UX Research:
Food Safety Awareness
Training Resources

Client: Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI)
My Role:
UX Research
Timeline: 4 Days
Tools:  Personal Interviews, Whiteboards, Figma and Google Sheets

Challenge

Food safety training materials often contain complex regulations and inconsistent formats, making them difficult for learners to understand and apply in real-world situations.

Training participants needed clearer guidance, simplified learning flows, and accessible resources to improve awareness and compliance with food safety standards.

Approach

A user-centred research process was used to identify gaps in training resources and improve how information is structured and delivered.

Key activities included:

  • Stakeholder interview

  • Existing training material audits

  • User interview

  • Usability testing of learning resources

  • User journey mapping

Insights from research were used to design simplified guidelines and structured training materials.
